whistled across his nether regions. Pierce grimaced. It could have been worse,
he supposed. At least the day was mild with no sign of rain. He peered into the
distance. Only the deeply grooved road cutting its path through the gentle
hills hinted at civilisation. He grimaced again. Where the bloody hell was he?
He curled a
fist and began trudging along the grass at the side of the road. Stones pricked
his bare feet.
going to kill Giles if he lived through this. He hadn’t intended to visit their

wager…He had vague recollections. Something to do with a race? Damnation, if
only his head wasn’t so fuzzy. But even then, why had Giles left him to sleep
it off in a field—naked?
The rumble of
a carriage made him stiffen. He wouldn’t get far with his bare feet. A form of
transport would be useful indeed. But who would give a naked man a ride? Pierce
shrugged to himself and turned, cupping one hand over himself to preserve what
little modesty he had left and using the other to gain the driver’s attention.
glossy carriage rumbled closer, led by two horses. He saw the driver glance his
way then look again before turning his head away. Dirt spattered his legs
making him jump back as it rolled past.
“Rot in hell
then,” he muttered half-heartedly and resisted the urge to scuff his bare foot
across the ground.
A command from

The door swung open.

He cursed under his breath when several more rocks jabbed the soles of his

as noble as one could when naked, he paused in front of the open door. There,

back. He allowed his own gaze to travel over her, observing the generous rise
of her breasts against a low cut bodice and the slender waist that led to hips
that were emphasized by a bustle. Hair coiled high, it gave him a fine view of
the gems on her neck and ears. From the delicate porcelain skin to the emeralds
casting a faint green hew across it, everything about this woman told him of
attractiveness. He had to force his gaze from her breasts or else both hands
wouldn’t conceal anything.
As the author, the talented Ms. Holt said
of the Cynfell brothers,“Lust, gluttony, greed,
sloth, wrath, envy and pride. The Cynfell brothers are the very embodiment of a
sinful existence..." and as there are Seven Deadly Sins, so shall there be
seven brothers, each with his own book. Currently there are three:
First was Julian inSinful Confessionswith his Deadly Sin beingWrath. Dante was brother number two inSinful Deeds Book Two, his deadly sin beingEnvy. And Pierce in the most recently released
book of the three, Sinful
Liaisons Book Threeand his
Deadly sin isGreed. I was lucky
enough to read all three of the books, one right after the other, so I have a
pretty good grasp on what is happening and I shall share it with you.
ConfessionsI kind of
pictured Julian as the brooding artistic type - writing letters, poems, pieces
and never satisfied with his work so he tears it up and throws it down
in frustration and anger. Kind of like Greg Brady did one
time but that totally dates me, doesn't it? lol Hard to believe in
all his artistic brooding but Julian has actually been corresponding with an
heiress from America named Viola Thompson. Much to Viola's surprise, she
interprets one of his letters as an invitation to visit and, deliriously happy,
accepts. She figures this is a prelude to a proposal and she
can finally get everyone off her back! Julian's thoughts
upon her arrival, while far from marriage do center on spending plenty of
intimate time together and their chemistry is off the charts! I have
always enjoyed Samantha Holt's books and a good bodice ripper from time to time
Confessions reminded my why. Barely over Novella size it was a
fun and saucy read and I was so glad I had two more to go!
Sinful Deeds can
be all kinds of things really. From the smallest and most insignificant
to taking another person's life. But in Dante's case, his Sinful Deed was
Envy - wanting what belong to someone else. And I guess worst of
all, it wasn't a thing it was a who. I suppose I should let you know that
Dante was considered one of the most notorious rakes of London. It
was Josephine who had fallen tail over teakettle for him, so much so that
she had decided that it was worth the ignominy of being his mistress for four
years before she finally had enough and called it quits. Dante, of
course, couldn't really believe she meant it until she actually left
and went into the arm of another and didn't show any signs of coming back.
It was at that point that he decided that he'd show her - a Cinfell man
was not a man to be trifled with and that she was truly meant to be with him,
not some other dufus. Ahhh the sins of the envious. This was
actually a novella, about 89 pages and a smooth and easy read.
Book Three, Sinful
Liaisons is once again only 127 pages long and an easy read.
Pierce's love interest is a duchess by the name of Evelyn who actually
picks him up alongside a busy roadway on her way home from London. It
seemed that Pierce had a problem with gambling and those he was playing with
had divested him of everything... including his clothing. He can't go
home as his brothers are wise to him and Evelyn becomes quite quickly enamored
with him. When she offers to write off his debt in exchange for his body,
he found that an easy decision. While he was deliciously skilled in bed
however, Evelyn had a decision to make and it became more difficult each day -
let herself be vulnerable again, something she vowed never to do or send away
the only man who has truly set her heart, mind and soul aflame. I loved
this story perhaps the best of the three because her decision affected her and
was between her and God only in a way no one else need have a say. Sounds
a lot like me. Oh wait... you didn't think I was going to tell you.. did
you? Surely not! You're just joking with me.
All in all, the books were
entertaining, sexy and fun. Envy and Lust are probably my two favorites
of the 7 Deadly Sins so I look forward to still reading about Lust. Ought
to be a real panty scorcher! These are all going to be books for those
over 18 in my opinion and based on these three alone, if you prefer closed door
sex, these are not for you. These are explicit and plentiful both in
thought and deed when it comes to sex. Best of all they each have a story
that goes with them and that I consider the best of all worlds!

Samantha lives in a small village in England with her gorgeous twin girls. She enjoys writing historical romance involving chivalrous knights, hot highlanders and cravatted men, but sometimes gets lured away by bad boy bikers, soldiers and other heroic modern men.
